One ART Grand Prix car will start on pole position for the first race of the weekend at Brands Hatch although the other will set off from sixteenth on the grid; Valtteri Bottas is the man at the front of the field at the Kent circuit although an unforced error by championship leader Jules Bianchi leaves the Frenchman on Row 8.
Having been quickest in practice earlier on Friday, a mistake by Bianchi resulted in him going off the track and into the tyre barriers at Paddock Hill Bend; his lowly grid position is likely to make for an exciting first race, however, with closest title challenger Christian Vietoris lining up in fourth position.

Bottas set the pace with a best effort of 41.438 from his qualifying group on the short Brands Hatch Indy circuit. Mika Mäki's second place for the Signature-Plus team ensures an all-Finnish front row with Alex Sims the leading British driver ahead of Mücke team-mates Vietoris and Sam Bird.
With qualifying having been split up into two groups of odd and even cars numbers, the format allowed for more space on the short and twisty track. Just ahead of Bianchi will be 15th placed Nick Tandy.
Race 1 of the weekend at Brands Hatch on Saturday commences at 11:45 local time (BST / GMT +1).
