Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport) has won the Formula 3 Euro Series race at the 3.696 kilometres long circuit at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on Sunday. The German benefited of a 30 seconds' time penalty for a total of 21 drivers, who all were driving too fast during a yellow flag phase following an accident of Christopher Zanella (Motopark Academy).

As a result of this penalty, Stefano Coletti (Prema Powerteam), who had crossed the finish line in first place, dropped back to second. In the points' standings, Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix), who ended up sixth in the race, remains in front. His margin over Vietoris is now 18 points.

Stefano Coletti won the battle at the start against Mika Mäki, who had started from pole, and pulled clear. After crossing the finish line, the Monegasque was informed that he was given a 30 seconds' time penalty. Christian Vietoris, together with Renger van der Zande (Motopark Academy) the only driver to slow down correctly during the yellow flag phase, was thus classified as the winner. For the Mücke driver, it already was the third victory of the season in a race on Sunday.

Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport): "I am happy with the six points for this victory. When the other drivers were too fast under yellow, the time penalty is justified. After all, yellow flags are not being shown just for fun, but to guarantee safety for the marshals who are working on a car that is stuck."
