The Netherlands' Carlo van Dam and the Kolles & Heinz Union team have elected to go their separate ways by parting company after just two race meetings of the 2009 season. After joining the team in the second week of February, 23-year-old van Dam has had a difficult campaign with eighteenth place in Round 1 being his best result.
After winning the German F3 title in 2007 and being crowd F3 Champion of Japan last year, van Dam progressed to the Euroseries for the first time in 2009. Having raced alongside Denmark's Johan Jokinen, the departure of the Dutchman now leaves the door open for a possible race seat for test drivers Edoardo Mortara and Jens Klingmann, of Italy and Germany respectively.
"This has, of course, been an important and thoroughly considered decision," said the departing van Dam. "I am happy that we have found a solution which is in the best interest of both parties."
