Jean Karl Vernay has claimed his very first win in the Formula Three Euroseries. The Frenchman started the race from third but managed to take the lead at the start. He kept Christian Vietoris and Jules Bianchi behind him.

While there was only a brief battle for the first two places, Bianchi had to defend his position until the end of the race. Especially Signature driver Mika Mäki tried it time and again, but the Frenchman successfully held off all attempts by the Finn to claim third place. Behind fifth-placed Coletti, Sam Bird secured the final championship point. Only with two laps remaining, the Briton overtook Atte Mustonen, who had started from pole position. The Finn was seventh. In the action-packed race, only 17 of the total of 28 drivers who had started were classified.

Jean Karl Vernay commented on his victory: "My start was good, that was the key to success. Initially, Christian was quicker behind me, but I could hold off his attacks and retain first place. Then I tried to pull a gap over him, which I did indeed."
