Jules Bianchi has finished on top following testing at Estoril. The ART pilot lapped the Portuguese track fastest on Wednesday ahead of Atte Mustonen's Motopark Academy with the second ART driver, Vatteri Bottas, in fifth.

Frenchman Bianchi's leading time was 1.31.912, four tenths of a second faster than Mustonen. Despite being at the top of the timesheets Bianchi was disappointed to complete just ten laps in the afternoon part of the session: "Following the lunch break, we subjected our car to a major change and executing this cost us a lot of time, but we did a good job."

Second-placed Mustonen, fresh from the British Formula 3 championship, was delighted withs his position: "P2 is anything but a poor result - I hadn't expected to do that well in my first official test. To be honest, I would have just been delighted to get a top-five result." The Finn was particularly happy as this was he team's first ever taste of F3 Euro Series testing action.

Rounding out the top three was Holland's Henkie Waldschmidt with Roberto Merhi in fourth position, who was expecting good results. "I prepared well in the off-season," the Spaniard explained, "and both the team and I did a good job today."

Britain's Jon Lancaster finished in an admirable eighth position with a lap time of 1.32.936, as he sustained injury whilst out on track: "While going over a curb, I wrenched a muscle in the area of my shoulder, arm and back and consequently was hampered throughout the day, but there you go - I know that I could give only 95 percent due to that, so we can analyse my lap times on that basis."
