24 June 2007 / Results / PhotosAt the 2.3 kilometres long Norisring in Nuremberg, Nico Hülkenberg (ASM Formule 3) scored his maiden victory in the Formula 3 Euro Series. In a turbulent race, the protégé of manager Willi Weber showed a great recovery, making it all the way from 18th place on the starting grid into the lead. Second place went to Sébastien Buemi (Mücke Motorsport) from Tom Dillmann (ASM Formule 3). For 18-year old rookie driver Dillman, it was the first podium finish in the world's toughest junior racing series.
Hülkenberg benefited from an accident in the early stages of the race and was already tenth after two laps. Another five laps later, he had moved up into sixth. On the 23rd of 46 laps, the driver from Emmerich overtook Yelmer Buurman (Manor Motorsport) who had been in the lead from the start and immediately pulled clear. After that, his maiden victory in the Formula 3 Euro Series was never in any danger.
Sébastien Buemi extended his points lead in the Formula 3 Euro Series by finishing second. Now, he is six points clear of Romain Grosjean (ASM Formule 3). The Frenchman retired following an accident in the opening stages of the race.
